Dear Solid Gold Sound Club Members,

Welcome to this first edition of the Solid Gold Sound Club Newsletter. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank those of you who made a contribution this past year. If you know someone who is a band alumnus but is not on the enclosed list, please encourage them to make a contribution and be a part of this special organization.

When Gordon Henderson asked me to help him out with this club I was very excited to participate. Why, you may ask. Well, when I look back at my undergraduate days at UCLA, most of the highlights have something to do with my involvement with the band, and I'd like for the current band members to be able to say the same thing when they look back at their time at UCLA.

Peter Dames

Peter Dames was a 1990 graduate of UCLA with a B.A. in ]apanese Studies. He was a member of the UCLA Bruin Marching Band as a snare drummer and trumpet player. During his senior year, he worked as an intern in Ronald Reagan's office in Century City. He is currently a Technology Integration Manager for Toyota, and he previously worked for Toyota at their corporate headquarters in Tokyo, Japan. While living in Japan, he founded the "Young Bruins in Japan" alumni group, and he was a member of the Board for the UCLA Alumni Club of Japan.
