A Beginner’s Guide to UCLA Football Game Day

College football is back, Bruins! Whether you’re a returning Bruin football fan or a first-time Rose Bowl guest, plan out your first game day of the season so all goes smoothly.

Kick off your college football experience the right way with these game-day tips:

Catch a ride on the shuttle

One of the easiest ways for students to get to the Rose Bowl is by the Rooter Bus, a shuttle bus that takes riders from the UCLA campus to the Rose Bowl and back again for all home football games. Remember to book your tickets for the Rooter Bus by the Wednesday before game day!

Bring a clear bag

The Rose Bowl’s clear bag policy allows three types of bags: a clear 12 inch by 6 inch by 12 inch tote, a one-gallon clear freezer bag, or small 4.5 inch by 6.5 inch clutch bag. Either make sure your bag meets one of these three requirements or be prepared to have your bag checked outside the Rose Bowl. If your belongings fit in your pockets, even better! Be sure to check the official UCLA game day information website about what items are permitted into the stadium and which are not.

Fan Zone

If you’d like to participate in the time-honored tradition of tailgating, you can always head over to the northeast corner of Lot H, where the Fan Zone is located. The Fan Zone features booths and exhibits from UCLA’s corporate and community partners, and guests are welcome to take part in the interactive games, giveaways, prize wheels, enter-to-win opportunities and displays. There are also food vendors available if you’re hungry but remember to bring cash — some of the vendors don’t accept cards.
