UCLA mailing address

How to format mailing addresses for different UCLA locations

UCLA mailing address standards are there to help mail services efficiently deliver letters and packages to the thousands of people living and working on the UCLA campus. Visit the UCLA Mail, Document and Distribution Services website for a full official guide on UCLA address standards.

There are different standards for different locations on the UCLA campus. Below is a quick breakdown of the two most common mailing addresses:

UCLA residence halls

If you’re sending mail to a UCLA student living in the UCLA residence halls, don’t use the residence hall’s address. All UCLA dorm residents receive mail at the Housing Mail Center, so they need to follow a certain format to be delivered properly. According to the UCLA Housing website, the correct mailing address for on-campus residents should be formatted like so:

Student's First & Last Name (as registered at UCLA)

Building, Room number

330 De Neve Drive

Los Angeles, CA 90024

For any questions about the UCLA mailing address for residence halls, contact the Housing Mail Center with any inquiries at (310) 206-1767.

UCLA departments

The UCLA mailing address for UCLA departments follows a different format. Here’s how to format UCLA department mailing addresses:

Joe Bruin (name)

UCLA Department (department)

Box 951234, 5555 Campus Hall (box and campus address)

Los Angeles, CA 90095-1234 (city, state, ZIP+4 code)

Note that the ZIP code for UCLA departments is different from the ZIP code for UCLA residence halls; it begins with 90095, followed by the first four digits of the department’s mail code. You can find the mail code through the UCLA directory.

An easier way to find the right UCLA mailing address for faculty and staff members at UCLA is to search for their contact information directly through the UCLA directory. For example, if someone wanted to send mail to Professor Joe Bruin, they could search “Joe Bruin” using the UCLA directory’s “people” search function. Then, they would click on Joe Bruin’s name in the results, which opens a pop-up with all of his contact information, including his UCLA mailing address.
