First Year student admissions

The UCLA Undergraduate Admission webpage of the First-Year Profile notes that there were 146,276 applicants for fall 2024 admission. The acceptance rate UCLA was 9%, with 13,114 students admitted to UCLA and 6,613 who enrolled. 

Among those admitted, the median unweighted GPA was 4.0 and the median weighted GPA was 4.60. In addition, 29% of first-year students (domestic) were also first-generation college students and 35% of first-year students (domestic) were from underrepresented backgrounds.

Transfer student admissions

UCLA Undergraduate Admissions notes how there are a variety of factors when reviewing transfer applications. For fall 2024 admission, there were a total of 27,177 transfer applicants, according to UCLA Undergraduate Admissions statistics. The acceptance rate UCLA was 23% for fall 2024, with 6,177 admitted transfer students and 3,832 enrolled. 

The admitted transfer students' median transfer GPA was 3.90. Additionally, 41% of transfer students (domestic) are first-generation students attending college and 35% of transfer students (domestic) are from underrepresented backgrounds. The majority (93%) of transfer students who were admitted to UCLA come from a California community college.
