Recognizing Pride Month at UCLA
Happy Pride Month, Bruins! The month of June observes Pride Month, also known as LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer/Questioning, with the + symbolizing the many other sexual orientations and gender identities within the LGBTQ+ community) Pride Month. According to the Library of Congress, Pride Month began in 1970, a year after the anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall Riots, in which people protested for increased LGBTQ+ rights. This Pride month, learn more about the resources, clubs and organizations that uplift the LGBTQ+ community.
