Celebrate National Friendship Day at UCLA

This Aug. 3 was National Friendship Day — a time to show your besties some love and celebrate your friendships! In honor of this holiday, we want to shout out some amazing friendships among students here at ASUCLA.

“I’m really grateful for the friendships I’ve gained in this job, specifically in our social media team,” shares Elyse, economics major and student social media supervisor. “Natalie, a psychobiology major, and Jan, a psychology major, make it feel like I’m not really working at all. We have a ton of fun coming up with funny TikToks and posts. It makes us really happy to see other students think our videos are funny and see them sending the content to their friends. I feel like Natalie and Jan really bring the creative side out of me. I look forward to what we’ll achieve as a team in the upcoming school year!”

Celia & Zoe
Celia, ASUCLA communications assistant
“Zoe and I met on our first day of kindergarten and have been pretty much inseparable ever since,” shares Celia. “Somehow, we both ended up at UCLA with the same major, so we've had a class together every quarter since fall of freshman year — even (unintentionally) enrolling in the same cluster course for our entire first year. There’s no one else I’d rather have with me navigating through college and life in general!”
Zoe, UCLA student
“I have been lucky enough to know Celia for almost 15 years,” shares Zoe. “We lived a block away from each other growing up and first met in elementary school. Now, we both attend UCLA! I’m so grateful that we now live minutes from each other once more after five years of long distance friendship. I wouldn’t have it any other way!”
