Kick off fall quarter with UCLA sports

As the fall quarter begins, UCLA’s athletic teams are gearing up for an exciting season filled with action, school spirit and opportunities for students to get involved.

Football

UCLA Football opens its season on Aug. 30 at 8 p.m. with a home game against the University of Utah in Pasadena at the Rose Bowl. Going into head coach DeShaun Foster’s second year at UCLA and with new transfer quarterback Nico Iamaleava, the Bruins are poised for a dynamic season. 

Make sure to get tickets for the student section on the UCLA Central Ticket Office website! Students also have the option to purchase a Den Pass, which grants access to all football and men’s basketball games during the academic year. Soccer

The UCLA women’s and men’s soccer teams also play during the fall quarter. The women’s team has its first home game at 7 p.m. on Aug. 29 against California State University Long Beach, and the men’s team’s first regular season home game was against UC Berkeley on Aug. 24 at 7 p.m. Both teams play home games at the Wallis Annenberg Stadium on campus, and students can attend for free with their Bruincard. Women’s volleyball

While the men’s volleyball season is in the winter, UCLA Women’s Volleyball plays in the fall. The first home game is on Oct. 2 at 7 p.m., where the Bruins will face off against Purdue University at Pauley Pavilion. For the UCLA Women’s Volleyball schedule, click the link below.

Interested in playing a sport yourself? College is the perfect time to continue playing a sport you love or try something completely new. Students looking for a more competitive experience can join club sports, while those looking for a more recreational experience can participate in intramural sports.
