The coaching staff of the UCLA women’s and men’s basketball teams
Heading into the 2025-2026 season, the following includes a recap on the 2024-2025 coaching staff, including UCLA men’s head coach Mick Cronin and the UCLA women’s head coach Cori Close. The two National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I basketball teams at UCLA each have a head UCLA basketball coach, an associate head coach and four additional assistant coaches. 2024-2025 Women’s Basketball Coaching Staff
According to the UCLA Athletics' biography on Cori Close, Close has been the Michael Price Family UCLA women’s head basketball coach since April 21, 2011. Alongside Close is Shannon LeBeauf, associate head UCLA basketball coach of the women’s team. According to UCLA Athletics' biography on LeBeauf, she has coached since May 2011 at UCLA and was promoted to associate coach before the 2019-2020 season.
The four UCLA assistant coaches for the women’s team are Tasha Brown, Tony Newnan, Soh Matsuura and James Clark. Brown completed her seventh season as one of the assistant basketball coaches for the women’s team in the 2024-2025 season. Newnan also joined the staff as associate coach in May 2011, going into his 14th season in 2024-2025. Matsuura was promoted to the assistant coach position in October 2023, following his position as the former video coordinator who had been working with the Bruins since 2018. Clark joined the assistant coach team in 2024-2025.

2024-2025 Men’s Basketball Coaching Staff
According to the UCLA Athletics' biography on Mick Cronin, Cronin has been the Michael Price Family UCLA men’s head basketball coach since April 9, 2019. Alongside Cronin is Darren Savino, associate head UCLA basketball coach of the men’s team. According to UCLA Athletics' biography on Savino, he has completed six seasons as the associate head coach of the men’s team.
The four UCLA assistant coaches for the men’s team include Rod Palmer, Nate Georgeton, Nemanja Jovanovic and Brendyn Taylor. Palmer has held his position as assistant coach for six years. Georgeton finished his second season as an assistant coach during the 2024-2025 season and has been working as a Bruin staff member since 2019. Jovanovic joined as one of the assistant coaches in August 2023, as well as the director of International Recruiting. Taylor also joined the 2023-2024 season at the same time as an assistant coach.
