UCLA zero week
UCLA zero week, also known as week zero, occurs at the start of every academic year before the fall quarter. The UCLA zero week for the 2025-2026 academic year begins on Sept. 22, with instruction starting on Sept. 25. See the UCLA fall term calendar at the link below for more important dates.
Aside from the start of classes, there are several activities lined up during UCLA zero week to welcome new and returning Bruins. These events are part of the True Bruin Welcome Week programming, which coincides with UCLA zero week and is designed to foster community and support the transition to college life. Events include Bruin Bash, a concert for undergraduate students hosted by the Cultural Affairs Commission (CAC) and Campus Events Commission (CEC); the New Student Welcome, an opportunity to meet campus leaders; the UCLA Westwood block party, an outdoor event in Westwood Village where participants can explore different vendors and activities; Champed Up, a UCLA Athletics welcome rally in Pauley Pavilion and more. With so many events to attend during zero week, it can be hard to decide which to prioritize. Click the link below for a BruinLife guide to making the most of week zero, with advice for move-in and which events to go to during the week.
