Los Angeles, Calif., Nov. 6, 2025 – Expanding her expertise and leadership beyond the UCLA campus, Associated Students UCLA (ASUCLA) Student Union Services Director Pamela Lewis is now serving as chair of the Association of College Unions International (ACUI) Region 1 Conference.

In this role, Lewis is overseeing the planning and coordination of the three-day regional ACUI conference, taking place between Nov. 6-8 at San Jose State University. This year’s conference theme, Mosaic in Motion: Building Innovative Campus Communities, highlights the efforts of university students, staff and faculty in “working together to share inclusive, creative and resilient campus environments,” according to the ACUI.

“This role has been deeply meaningful for me, both personally and professionally,” Lewis said. “Being surrounded by driven, like-minded colleagues has been revitalizing and reaffirmed my passion for student affairs. It reminded me why I serve — to create spaces that foster belonging, growth and connection.”

The ACUI is a network of college union professionals, students and alumni dedicated to supporting education and the development of students within campus communities. Lewis has a long history with the organization, serving as an ACUI member from 2002-2016 when she was in various leadership roles with Associated Students Incorporated at Long Beach State University, and rejoined upon her tenure at ASUCLA in 2023.
