Senior reflections for the spring quarter

Happy spring quarter, Bruins! This is an exciting time: the academic year is wrapping up soon and new students are committing to UCLA! With that, here is some advice from two seniors reflecting on their last spring quarter at UCLA before graduating.

Hi Bruins, we are the writers behind the BenefitsU email blogs, Olivia and Siena! Both of us are in the graduating class of 2025, so we wanted to reflect on past spring quarters and share our thoughts!

Olivia’s reflections

Spring quarter is always a fun one. As a transfer student, I only have last year’s spring quarter to compare it to this one; however, I remember that spring quarter was/is about fun. More than in the other quarters, there is a lot of anticipation and excitement for the warmer weather and summer. Whether you are getting ready to celebrate a friend’s graduation, a new job acceptance or your own graduation, spring is a time to grow and try something new on campus.

For me, when I think about the spring quarter, I think about UCLA Recreation classes, learning more about student organizations or taking an additional fun course, like dance or music.

Siena’s reflections

I take spring quarter to enjoy the warmer weather, final classes before the summer and weekend trips. Reflecting on my past four years, the end of the school year has always been bittersweet: there is the excitement of a long break, but also some sadness with leaving close friends and the UCLA community. However, with the mixture of emotions, both positive and negative, spring quarter presents a special time to reminisce and make the most of your final weeks and student privileges at school.

I want to make the most of my final quarter, whether that be crossing off bucket list items — such as going to Coachella while I live in LA — or enjoying my last classes as an undergrad!
