Bruin Esports Gaming Lounge now open in ASUCLA Student Union
The UCLA gaming community now has a dedicated area for PC and console gaming in the heart of the ASUCLA Student Union and is open to all Bruins and the public at large.
Los Angeles, Calif., Oct. 1, 2025 – A new, high-tech computer gaming space is now open for all Bruins to enjoy in the Associated Students UCLA (ASUCLA) Student Union. Commemorated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Sept. 30, the Bruin Esports Gaming Lounge features Alienware gaming stations where Bruins can play popular games such as League of Legends, Overwatch, Fortnite and more.
Led by UCLA Recreation, the Bruin Esports Gaming Lounge is located on A-Level in Ackerman Union, filling the ASUCLA Student Union space formerly known as the Bruin Fun Zone. This area now offers a dedicated social and competitive gaming environment designed to support the esports and gaming community and related tournaments and gaming events.
“The Bruin Esports Gaming lounge is a sleek new addition to the historic Student Union that we hope establishes a central hub for Bruins to build community and share in their passion for gaming,” said Pouria Abbassi, ASUCLA executive director and CEO.
Bruins and campus visitors alike are now welcome to join friends in the lounge to rent gaming sessions on either personal computers (PC) or console stations. The lounge also includes specialized chairs and supportive gaming equipment provided by Alienware.
