Bruin One Access program saves students millions in first year

Bruin One Access, a program that provides required course material access to undergraduates, has saved UCLA students over $3.6 million in the 2024-2025 academic year.

Los Angeles, Calif., June 2, 2025 – In its first full year of implementation, the Bruin One Access program has already made a major impact on course material accessibility at UCLA. Student savings on required course materials over traditional purchase options totaled over $3.6 million in the 2024-2025 academic year.

UCLA Bruin One Access is a subscription program offered by the UCLA Store, a student-run enterprise of Associated Students UCLA (ASUCLA). The program provides undergraduate students with access to required course materials at a flat rate of $129 per quarter. The service aims to provide convenient, sustainable and affordable access to textbooks, courseware and course readers required for undergraduate courses at UCLA.

“The Bruin One Access program is not only a cost-saving initiative, it also represents ASUCLA’s commitment to academic accessibility,” said Peter Poon, UCLA Store director. “By granting immediate access to the necessary course materials, we are alleviating financial burdens and guaranteeing that all undergraduate students are equally equipped to begin the academic term.”

In the 2024-2025 academic year, Bruin One Access delivered over 170,000 course materials to over 64,000 participants. With a participation rate average of 72%, the Bruin One Access subscription tier builds on the Inclusive Access program, which provides materials on a title-by-title basis. The subscription tier offers a convenient platform for students to access all required course materials automatically.
