Development Advisory Board established to strengthen ASUCLA Student Union support

Led by seven UCLA alumni and one industry leader, the DAB is now seeking donations to support the historic ASUCLA Student Union and its student-centric initiatives.

Los Angeles, Calif., Jan. 13, 2026 – The Development Advisory Board (DAB)— set to lead external funding outreach on behalf of the Associated Students UCLA (ASUCLA) Student Union — has filled all open member seats. Amid rising costs for goods and operations, the DAB was created to establish donor support and ensure continued support for ASUCLA as a steward of daily life at UCLA.

The inaugural board comprises seven UCLA alumni, some of who are former ASUCLA Board of Directors members, and one industry leader focused on building, maintaining and strengthening relationships between ASUCLA, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and its donors.

Members of the board include:

  • Betzabel Esudillo, Nourish California chief engagement officer and DAB chair

  • Malina Masur, The Night Ministry development director and DAB vice chair

  • Eliyah Cohen, Deutsche Bank analyst and DAB co-secretary

  • Wudia Kamara, KPMG forensic advisory associate and DAB co-secretary

  • Bill Baroni, attorney and law professor and DAB member

  • Norma Fernandez, Everyone On chief executive officer and DAB member

  • Steven Moran, Apple hardware engineer and DAB member

  • Bijal Vakil, SkaddenTech intellectual property trial lawyer and DAB member

“Each DAB member is committed to connecting ASUCLA’s mission and vision with potential donors, aligning shared values with contributions invested through the Student Union,” said Pamela Lewis, ASUCLA Student Union services director.

Donations will support student employment, a student emergency relief fund, maintenance and accessibility improvements to the historic student union buildings and cultural and wellness programs serving all UCLA students.
